I am a new member and am just trying to feel this cite out.

Where is the best place to go for tips on gas mileage comparisons and ideas to improve it?

Love my FJ, but not liking the gas mileage so far.

Just click on the forums link and look for your subject line item. You should be getting at least 18 mpg, I'm actually getting 20 mpg and I drive mostly in town. I guess that it depends on your set-up and driving style...

I also find that the fuel economy is considered good or bad depending on what kind of vehicle was last owned.
For example, I had a turbo MR2. Of course the mileage is better in the car. But others have switched from full-size trucks. Well, they say the fuel economy is great!

It's all about perception.
Welcome.

If you are looking to increase fuel economy, and don't mind paying a little to upgrade, Get yourself a new header and exhaust. Even a cold air intake. But the catch is that it will also increase the power of your FJ so as long as you dont try to drive like a race car, it will improve your gas mileage. I just upgraded to a set of JBA Headers and exhaust system. I'm getting an extra 4 to 5 miles to the gallon than before. But when I really use that extra horse power i get 15mpg if Im lucky.
