just new to this site i have lifted my fj with a 3in. skyjacker lift kit and then added a set of 33in. nitto terragrappler tires since doing so i have noticed my speedo is not always correct, on the highway from mile marker to mile marker im a 10th of a mile off. the other day i was driving thru town an came up on a speed billboard and it says im doing 35 mph and checking my speedo it also says im doing 35mph . what gives, i also hear that due to the larger tires that my anti lock brakes are no longer working and the shift pattern on my automatic transmission is also effected. so i guess my question is , does any body know of a company that has a recalibration module that will work on the fj to correct these issues / JOE

The ABS and Shift pattern should not be affected due to the same angular velocity. they will work the same as stock. you may feel you have less power and need to take the rpms up higher though because you now need more torque to push the larger tires. The abs is told to turn on once you go from 10 mph or fast to nothing. the computer thinks the tires lock up to fast. Now the speed will seem the same at low speed but on high way your speedometer will read to slow. your mileage will also be to low. this is scene by simple geometry and the circumference of the wheel. 2* 3.14*radius. The change from the stock tire size to the new 33 is not that much so on the highway you might be off by 4 mph. its not to big of a deal just play dumb with the cop and you may get out of the ticket. I have done it once and you put less miles on your car. ( not really it only looks that way)
