Hey Guys,
I just picked up my new FJ this past weekend and I'm dying to get it out on a trail. Does anyone have any good suggestions for off-roading spots within a few hours of NYC?
Best,
-Jim

Hey Jim,
This is kinda off the topic, but I live in NYC and was wondering where you brought your FJ. I am buying one in a few weeks, been to a few dealers but still not sure where to buy from. The only places I know of to fourwheel is Paragon Offroad park in Pennsylvania, but I hear they might be getting shut down. I would love to find some place nearby too. There are some clubs I have been thinking of joining, one is called Gotham Offroad club, most of the guys have Land cruisers or 4runners I think. Check out there website.

Hey Joe,
I did extensive research before I bought my FJ. I found some really good deals over at Toyota Manhattan but the sales staff was a pain. One of my co-workers used to be a salesman at a Honda dealership in MD right outside of Silver Springs and he contacted a sales manager down there at a Toyota dealership that gave me an amazing deal ($800 below invoice). I know that they still have at least 8 FJs on the lot and they are having a tough time unloading them so if you are willing to make the 4 1/2 hr trip down there it might be worth it. Let me know if you want their info. Thanks for the off-road info.
Best,
-Jim

Guys there is a large state park in NJ called the Pine Barrens which have hundreds of off road trails! Awesome to run on but bring your boots and plenty of tow straps as you WILL get stuck. Also, if you are looking to buy a toyota send me an e-mail jetillinghast@comcast.net and I will show you how to save thousands! NO JOKE, I bought mine 1,500 below invoice and got a 500 check from Toyota on top of it. I am not a salesperson or trying to sell anything. Just a well informed buyer!

Hey Jet,
Thanks for the info. Question - I have the stock tires on my FJ (not A/T). Will them be able to handle the Barrens? And WOW on the deal that you got on your FJ.
