I have read a few post on another forum about some FJ's (Specifically Special Editions) being delivered with power heated leather seats... I recently put a deposit on a Special Edition FJ, the dealer was unable to give me much info about what it was equipped and being delivered with so I called the Toyota Customer Experience hot line and gave them the VIN. They were happy to confirm it was a Factory produced SE, not a knock off with a painted roof and stuck on accessories, they also confirmed it was shipped with the C7 convenience package... now to the subject of this post, I asked them if it was shipped with power heated leather seats, she put me on hold for a few minutes to check, when she came back she basically said it was a crap shoot, Toyota does not officially offer it as an option, but some FJ's (special edition or not) that are ordered from the South East or the Gulf Coast regions are in fact shipped with leather interiors. Has anyone received leather from Toyota??

Here are some pics from an SE FJ owner that says the leather was "installed at the port" not the factory.

My guess is the leather seats are either dealer or distributor installed ( read..port installed-PIO ) While getting my other Toyota serviced at the dealer this week they had an FJ with leather seats that looked quite nice. Had an 'add on sticker' with a price of 1999.00 for them. The add-on sticker says to me.. dealer installed and not PIO. I would bet that you could find a local auto upholstery shop that would do the upgrade for a lot less than the dealer charges. Info for what it's worth.
Cheers

No leather on my '07 FJ, but they would have made my wife an instant fan had they offered heated leather seats. And I'll admit, the older I get the more a warm seat suits my aches and pains!
