I went out and replaced the glove box and pulled it out again. It takes alot of pull to get it out. The rear of the box should be pulled straight up or just slightly toward the front. Once the rear pops out the rest is easy.
My glove box doesn't have any damage at all.
If you put your fingers between the guide rails on the left and right and pull very hard it should come out.
Let me know if your still having trouble. I can make a short video for you.
Thanks,

So far, I have not used this top compartment. I like to throw little stuff in the middle compartment. My glove compartment is used to hold my manual, insurance, registration stuff, and a soft cloth for removing bugs in front of my windshield.
Hey, maybe that top compartment can be modified to place a GPS/DVD monitor. Now that might be awesome as long as it's not blocking my driving view. If it does, it's a good way to kick back on the side of the road and watch a movie on the driver's seat.

I have seen several pictures of it holding a portable GPS system - not bad, but I think I like a GPS to be closer to the radio - it just feels better
