Thanks Fj_jk, I was able to simply unscrew both the shift and 4 wheel drive knobs. I plan on cutting down the gear ship by about and inch and re-threading the shaft. Now I've gotta find someting cool to put inplace of the stock knob... Pics to come

Check it out guys, today I installed a B&M t-handle shifter. I lopped off the first half inch of threading on the shifer shaft with a hack saw,a pplied some blue loctite to the threads and screwed on the new shifter. It took all of about 6 minutes. Pics in the gallery

There is a company out there (don't remember who off the top of my head) that has rocks that have been finished and set with threaded heads in them to use as shift knobs. I think they are marketed towards the Jeep market, but might be universal. I'll see if I can find out who makes them.
