Did you rethread the rod or just cement the new shifter in place?

i did use the propper die to clean the thread before installing the new handle. The size escapes me now, but my standard tap and die set had it in there. but to answer your questio, no re-threadding was not required, as the B&M handle has a few different thread inserts that come with it. oh yeah and two big drops of blue loctite

I found the company that has the rock shift knobs. The link is below. They have several different options, and have on that is a grenade. I don't know if the threading works out, but I'm sure they'll tell you.
