I am very disappointed with the part time 4wd you have installed in the FJ Cruiser.

You supposedly can't use it on dry pavement without damaging the drive train. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO WARNINGS/NOTICES TO THIS EFFECT. A weak notice about "Use on wet or slippery surfaces..." is insufficient. Given the explicit warnings littered throughout the Owner's Manual, the omission is glaring.

You need to educate your sales force because the salesman who went with me for the test ride encouraged me to try the 4wd on dry pavement and we drove around for 20 minutes.

Even using the system on wet pavement, the truck will not do a low speed, tight turn (such as into a parking space) without the drive train binding-up and causing the truck to come to a complete stop.

I owned a WRX and the 4wd system was flawless. I paid a lot more for this truck and expected more.

The Manual requires 10km per month of 4wd operation.

In my opinion this omission will lead to unhappy owners and warranty claims that you will not be able to defend.

I agree they need to do a better job of training their salespeople. We've heard many stories of salespeople telling customers untruths out of ignorance.

A problem as large as the vehicles transmission seizing deserves a more thorough notice than they have right now.

No offence, but you can't put ANY part-time 4WD system in use on dry pavement. It's just common knowledge. It's like saying you didn't know you can't hit the windshield with a softball sized rock. Of course it's gonna crack. Why do you need a warning for this?
This is why it's called "part time".

I guess you have never owned a 4 wheel drive TRUCK before. The wrx is not a truck and does not act like one they are two different animals. The 4 wheel system in you wrx is for good handling and the 4 wheel drive system for your new way cool fj is for mad off road fun get the point.
