Hi all, I will be getting my FJ in a few days and nobody told me that it requires premium gas, man I sure hate paying for premium gas. Does any one know if it is OK to use regular? Will it hurt the engine or just have less power?
*moved by admin, I thought you might get a quicker answer here* Thanks, Admin

According to the manual the FJ Cruiser requires 91 octane or higher to avoid engine knocking.

Nope, i got mine yesterday. Manual does indeed say 91 octane, but the dealer says toyota tech rep says regular is fine unless you max performance. mine came with a full tank of regular.....

Glad to hear that regular will do.
Otherwise it could have been an expensive summer.
