That looks nice. The "jeep" looks good, too. There is a couple of those around here. One is a dark blue, and the other looks just like yours...well..minus the US flag.

Funny thing about the jeep...if it weren't for Toyota I wouldn't have that jeep. Around 1979 I was in the AF with only three stripes on my sleeve, so not a whole lot of money. I started looking for something to go 4-wheeling in around the base. I don't know about know but then you could drive all over Tyndall AFB with no hassle. It was a blast.
I liked the looks of he Toyota FJ (40?) but even well used all of them were either jacked up to the sky or the price was too much. Heck for a while I even considered a VW Thing! Then I found a sad little "Willies 41" for sale that turned out to be a 1942 Ford GPW. And from that I ended up becoming fully engrossed in the jeep.
This jeep has been a blast to drive. I bought it in Panama City FL pretty much as a wreck. "Restored" it and then dragged it out to missile school at Vandenberg AFB, CA and then onto Minot AFB, ND...where I rebuilt it yet again! I ended up having to replace the frame because the original was just too goobered.
From there I was stationed at Eielson AFB, AK but lived in North Pole, AK. Now that was a fun place. My regular truck has frozen up and since I always kept the jeep in the garage it fired right up. It was -45F (no wimpy windchill, just straight up cold!) and I drove that jeep about 15 miles one way to work. It was toasty inside the jeep but with the ice fog I couldn't see NOTHING in front of me.
Sadly, now that I'm back in Florida, I don't have any exciting eather to drive thru. Well, we do have hurricanes from time to time but I'm not sure I would want to drive the jeep.
However, I have developed an interest in photography... Larger version
Since finishing the jeep this last time, I've hired two models to pose with the jeep. I dressed them up in WW2 era or look-a-like clothing. Photographing these women was a blast to be sure. I remember my wife asking after one set of photos---"so where's the jeep?" I've been trying to line up another model but so far no success.
Maybe I'll have to wait until I get the FJ delivered and then see if that attracts models better?
