I have noticed the low windshield height, I guess I just got used to it.
Same here. Plus, there's a traffic light on the lower right, or left of the street as well. Easily see that one.

Traffic lights are a little different up here in Canada. Ours are across the intersection so it is easier to see even in the FJ! I have noticed when I'm in the US that the lights are close to the stop line making it hard to see from many vehicles. I just stop a little further back from the line.

I had an idea, but I don't have the funds to do it. So maybe one of our wealthy members can do it.

There are a lot of issues with visibility and blind spots in the FJ.

We should replace the windshield with two 37" flat screen LCD panels.
Set up the tv's for picture in picture in picture.

First add a forward facing wide angle camera and pipe that in to the main lcd picture in picture.

Put a couple rear/side view cameras in the rear view mirros to cover the horrendous blind spots when changing lanes.

Add a rear view camera to replace the rear view mirror.

While we are at it, might as well put a couple side view cameras so we could get a better look at the talent in the other cars when we are stopped at red lights.

Also, sometimes when I'm watching dvd's in my FJ I find myself forgetting to look at the road for seemingly minutes at a time. So we might as well as have the DVD player display in one of the picture in pictures on the LCD, so I don't get distracted when i'm driving.

What does everyone think?

RE:

"just dont be first at the light"

The answer may be to run more red lights
