Yea, just checked UPS and my rails are somewhere between San Pablo, CA and Houston. Should get them Monday, and my plans are about the same as yours - flat black Rustoleum. I went with these because almost everything else I found bolted to the body, rather than the frame (even though some descriptions say "bolt to frame").

I finally crunched one of my OEM running boards, so I hit the dealership and picked up a pair of the Toyota rock rails. To be clear, these aren't steps in any way; they are strictly rock rails. They are the ones shown in Toyota's accessory listing. They are 1.75" tubing, stainless I think (then powder coated semi-flat black), 2 tubes with 4 heavy double gussets and 4 heavy double frame mounts with heavy welds. They're bomber! They're also $270 USD for each side. Oh well... I got 'em and I love 'em. Now let's go try 'em out!

Those are the factory running boards. It even says so in the add. "Brand new, never used, 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Running boards. These are the factory stock running boards that comes from Toyota. They were taken off immediately after the purchase of the vehicle."
