Does any one know how to remove the driver side glove box without bending it? Ive removed the screws and when I try to slide something underneath the box it the box frame starts to bend

Im trying to hard wire a Garmon nuve into the box by running a power cable through the dash.

Thanks

Vin

If I remember correctly, the owner's manual might help. Check the section on replacing the cabin air filter. It's behind the glove box.

I've taken mine out a hundred times, but it hasn't been out for a few months.

If I remember correctly you must pull and lift at the same time. I can't remember if it's toward the front or the rear.

It was a pain in the arse to do the first time, I was certain I was going to break something.

I installed a plug for my GPS in the driver’s side glove box yesterday. After taking the screws out, open the cover all of the way. The front of the box (away from you) is held in by expansion clips(aka yank the crap out of them clips). The rear(closest to the steering wheel) has clips that tuck under the dash behind the gauges. Grab the lid as close to the hinges as you can. I sat in the driver’s seat and put both hands on the lid. The trick is to do what is basically a curl. Pull the box at the angle the lid is at. This will keep you from breaking the lid off or anything else. It’s gonna take a good tug. I pulled on mine a few times and noticed that the dash was starting to flex a little. A good quick tug got it out.

As far as the power cable is concerned, I put mine in the deepest part of the box. I just used a plug from Pep Boys and used my dremel wannabe to make a hole. I did have to trim the dash a little where the box mounts to. It looks stock which is what I was looking for. For the GPD cord if you want the box to close w/ the cable running out, just close the box w/ the cable running out the front about 1” right of the open button. Then slide the cable to the corner between the lid and the button.
