My wife HATED the yellow. Said I'd get sick of the color by the time I'm in my mid 30's and still driving the FJ.
Plus she knew deep inside I was pushing for yellow due to my ridiculous Steelers fandom.
I need to update my avatar though because I put the stock alloys on right after I got the FJ.

I was sold on the Smurf Blue color when I saw the cover of the FJ Magazine. I was sold on the car itself after reading said magazine.
The way I became a Cruiser owner is funny, and some may appreciate it.
I co-signed on a Corolla for an ex-girlfriend. We broke up and I told her that I would leave the car alone unless she stopped making the payments, at which time I would repossess the car. I refinanced my house and discovered that she had missed the last two months of payments up to then. I had a friend, who works for a private investigator, find the ex-b*%ch. Three close friends and I went to her house, found the car, used the plastic AAA key that I had made before we broke up to open the door, pushed it down the street two blocks with the flashers on, called a tow truck, had the car delivered to the nearest Toyota dealership, had them re-key the car...while I was waiting for the car to be re-keyed, I saw a blue FJ 4x4 on the display pedestal in front of the dealership. I was bored, so I asked for a test drive. Four hours later I became a newly minted FJ owner (they were great about the trade-in, maybe because it was a Toyota) and the ex-b*&ch was car-less and totally S.O.L. Karma is certainly a funny thing sometimes.

My wife didn't want me to get another Silver car - since my last 4 were silver - so the Black reminded me of an old Black & White police cruiser - and the dealership just happened to have one coming in.
I thought that the name Black DIAMOND was just a catchy marketing name - like Voodoo Blue - until I saw it for the first time in the sun today. (I live in PA and it's been cloudy/raining here for the last week).
The closeup image is out of focus but it only exaggerates the colors in the paint. Now I can say I drive a DIAMOND multi-colored Cruiser.
