I was waiting for Thule or Yakima to produce a rack system specificly for the FJ before I placed the order for my truck. As of now they still haven't put anything out. I ended up using the Thule 450 Cross road bracket to mount 65" square bars to the factory rack system. I have Rollercoasters mounted on the rear bar and Glide and Set units on the front bar. This works out well for placing our boats flat with plenty of room. The downside is the amount of wind howl with the bars on without the boats. Next season I plan to install a fairing to see if that will quite the empty bars down. I have tried to attach a picture of the set-up, I keeping my fingers crassed that it work right. Anyway enjoy the water however you tranfer you boat.

how high above the factory rack does that stick up? Im thinking about just strapping them down to my stock wrack as tight as possible. It seems like Toyota overlooked everything with the practicality of this rack. And to think I traded my truck for the rack. Should have gone with an after market.

The mounting adapters and the bars add 2.5" to the height of the factory rack. The kayak saddles add another 6" to the front bar and 5" to the rear bar. I have been trying to get a picture of the set-up on the site, but as of now have been unsuccessful. But I will keep trying.
