I just bought a somewhat baseline FJ and it dosent have the locking differential. This I regret! Which is less hassle/cost,an air locker or a Toyota electric to install??

The air locker will probably be cheaper, as no modifications will need to be made. To fit an electric locker into a non-locker axle housing, a section needs to be cut out, drilled, and threaded, to make way for the actuating arm. Besides, the ARB air locker is a bit stronger, as well. There should be cheaper options...I'm pretty sure other, cheaper lockers will fit the non-e-locker axle, such as Tru-trac, Lock-Right, and many other "lunchbox lockers".

I'm guessing you either got a 2wd model, or a base model with an auto? If you got a base model with a 6 speed, it would gave come with the locker.
