I'm new to this board, but as I've come here and found information on the LED lights I have on order. I figured I'd give out some info that'll help with what is "unsolved" here. But yet solved on the other FJ board I belong to.
I don't recomend this, as it disables a safety feature. But the feature also burns gas, and bulbs. (more to fix). So here's what some of the other members of the "other" board came up with. I've done it on mine and works like a charm.
But if you don't like things bouncing around right there just put the connection back together just enough for it to hold. to connect it back takes some pressure to do, so you can connect it just enough to hold and not worry about it being on.

WildBillKelso that's good info ..... but you said it burns gas and bulbs !! how does it burn GAS?

If I read the first post correctly he said it disable the safety feature (the DTRL) but the DTRL burns gas and bulbs, therefore by disabling them you are actually saving the gas and bulbs.
The bulb burning is obvious. The more the DTRL are on - the quicker the bulbs will burn out. My only assumption on the gas is that the very clight extra load is somehow causing you to burn more gas? While I do not see it as being a significant load on the electrical system to burn more gas, this is the only assumption I can gather from his original post.
