You know everyone today is searching for that extra 1 or 2 mpg. I'm only averaging maybe 15 mpg with my 2008 FJ. That is easy going 40 mph running with gentle starts and easy stops. I see all these performance chips on ebay ranging from $10 to $50 that all claim to "turn hamburger into steakburger, cure global warming, and reduce your taxes" has anyone actually tried any of these with any success? I saw one chip avertizing a 65HP boost with a 30% rise in fuel economy. Sorry but my brain is old school so increased HP=lower MPG. But maybe in todays world this is not the case. So in the intrest of learning all I can I will defer to anyone with real world experience in theis field. Suggestions?

Diesel engines will get that kind of performance out of a programmer or chip, but I don't think a gas will. What is the chip you are talking about?

check em out. it seems to me that if this were really possible the car makers would be screaming this from the rooftops, especially with gas at four bucks a gallon.

I think this is a bunch of bull pucky...if anyone buys one and it does what it state, with out blowing up your rude in the process then I am in for one too. I spoke with a guy from http://www.unichip.us/search_results.asp?dhtmlgoodies_year=2007&dhtmlgoodies_make=Toyota&dhtmlgoodies_model=453055738#
And he said if anyone said that they can help your gass MPG then they are flat out telling you a lie ( his words not mine) the FJ's has a device before or after the cad that reads how much gas and air is mixing and the onboard computer ajusts this accordingly...so I dont know what to tell ya friend.
