Ok, I just happened to be wandering through my local hardware store. I found a couple different 5 gallon fuel cans with spouts, they were plastic and on clearance for $4.50. My question is this, what reason(s) is there for using the metal jerry cans over the plastic cans. They both would strap to the rack on my FJ. Is there a reason to pay 40-60 dollars for a metal one?
Thanks for any insight, Fatback

Metal ones are cooler?
I have found that my red plastic one is fading and looks ugly. I wouldn't be surprised if it's getting brittle from the UV rays, as well.

If that is the only reason, you can just buy a new one every couple of years and still have a little change in your pocket going jing-a-ling-a-ling

Hi.. I have two of the old style (10 years old) red Blitz can's that I don't need. I used one for gas and opne for kerosene. They've been kept indoors (actually inside my apartment) since new. You can have both for $50. I have no plans to use them and I'm moving next month. Ron
