From a design perspective, the white roof is more functional than asthetic (for good looks). Light to white paint colors reflect light and hence heat away from the vehicle. This in turns keeps the passanger compartment cooler, requiring less cooling, and leaving more power to engine for moving the vehicle. What I find curious is that they did not apply this design logic to the engine compartment hood...Im pretty sure they decided that would look hideous, as it certainly would.

Oh and just incase your wondering...Dark colors ABSORB light and heat, making the inside of the vehicle MUCH hotter, this in turn makes your compressor have to work all the harder and more frequently to cool the passenger compartment. The more your compressor has to work, the less available power you have and the less effecient (gas guzzling) you vehicle will be. Thermo 101.

one of my quirks (the nature of me) Ive always been a big fan of functionality over looks.
