I sold my 2000 Cherokee Sport 4WD and bought an '08 FJ. If you go for it you won't be disappointed - I like the ride way better than the Jeep. The heat does not come up to temp as fast as my Jeep did, but it's not bad. The FJ is great in the snow, and like others said it is peppier too, in spite of its 4200 pound weight. Probably safer in case of a wreck, too - all kinds of air bags, side cushions, etc. Rear seat cushions (bottoms) come out with 2 thumbscrews, so the rear seatback can fold down flat. That would give extra room in the rear if you need it.

Great information. Thanks for all your support. I have not yet decided to pull the trigger on the FJ but my co-workers are leaning on me to pick up the pace and make something happen. I have several concerns, the newest of which is the turning radius. HUGE! Why couldn't Toyota make it turn a bit shorter? What the heck?
As for fitting folks in the back. I'm just waiting to find a person w/ one here in town that has a moment for me to cuff up a friend and shove em in.
Hopefully more to follow. If I end up w/ one, I'm sure I'll be posting more. Thanks again.
