Time to get new tires as I am getting my FJ out in the field now regularly . I see you mentioned you can fit the 285/70/17 tires on stock suspension - will these fit with no rubbing under on and off-road conditions? I want the biggest tires I can get without a lift but do not want them to rub under any conditions.

Any help appreciated.
Thx,
Drew

I had 285/70/17's Goodyear MT/R's on the stock aluminum rims with zero modifications. There was absolutely no rubbing. Other people claim this isn't possible, but I have done it. And I wheel it hard.

I recently purchased a 2008 FJ and replaced the stock rim/tire package with aftermarket rims and BFG KO 265/70/17all terrains and it rides great. They pick up rocks pretty good but a very soft ride compared to stock.no complains here.I also have these tires on my 2005 Ram 3500 4x4 and do 11,000kms per month and 4000kms of that is on gravel.Never had a flat and they take a pounding!I can usually get about 35000kms out of a set before i have to replace them.

Take a look at these.. If I were buying today, it would be one of these. Ron

Thanks for the info about the 285s. I had BFG AT KOs on my old Blazer and never had a problem off-road (never had a doubt). Gotta stick with what works. Hope the BFGs don't rub
