When I purchased My FJ it did not have a towing package on it. I want to use the Toyota stock hitch because it is hidden underneath. (Unless you can suggest a better hitch and why). I have two questions: 1)Where is the best place to purchase? 2)What wiring is needed? (I found a wiring connector at the back bumper, but everyone is trying to sell me a wiring harness that goes to the lights?).

I used the Toyota hitch and wiring, cost me $268. The dealer gave me a discount right after I bought mu FJ. Took about 1 hour for me to install. The dealer tried to sell after market, which I did not want. He had to order the OEM package. Go with OEM, you will be happy.

I also got the factory towing stuff. It is way better than any aftermarket stuff you can get, and it sits higher. The wiring harness from Toyota includes some relays and fuses. The harness plugs in near the back. Way less clutter than the ones that plug into your lights.
