OK here is the deal, just last weekend i noticed that the paint/clearcoat on rim that is on the back door is peeling, and the aluminum under is corroding. The tire has never been off the back door never seen road grime or salt, I went to the dealership yesterday and asked if this was covered under warranty, they told me that it was covered under the original factory warranty which had expired before i bought the truck used. When i bought the truck i added another 3yr/60k km bumper to bumper shouldn't Toyota honor the warranty they were so eager to sell me to cover this problem?

If its bumper to bumper warranty they should cover it.

Ask to speak to the service manager to get a straight answer.

They covered mine! 2 wheels had to be re-finished! They did a decent job too!

well i went to the dealership today and found out that Toyota would have covered it if the truck still had the original factory warranty but when i bought it it was used and have just over the 60000 km which made the factory warranty obsolete and the extra warranty i bought doesn't cover the rims, or anything that has to do with the overall look of the truck, now i'm stuck with a crappy peeling rim, which is less than to years old, and has never seen road usage. Gotta love Toyota they want to be your vehicle supplier but once they have you hooked they beat every last penny out of ya, and i should have know that before because i work at the Toyota plant where i live
