I am a photographer who just purchased a new fj.. I have searched for modified racks that would displace the weight, has anyone here done such a thing? According to what I am told, the roof will hold up to 250lbs with the points it has to attach the rack.

There are plenty of aftermarket roof racks available that would support the weight of a person. They have a wire mesh floor. Gobi is one. I think ARB makes one. So does Allprooffroad. Kinda pricy, though.
