While I will grant all of you that the FJ's C-Pillars are massive; it does not constitute the need for blind spot mirrors. The side mirrors are sufficient for the job. The correct way for mirrors to be set is as follows: Driver side set up should be moved out until you lean your head slightly to the left to actually see the side of the truck. The passenger side is the same but instead of left; it is to the right. My wife wanted me to get blind spot mirrors but I showed her this way and she agrees that the blind spot is almost completely gone. A major issue is afoot with the amount of people driving and getting licenced everyday. The simple fact is; you are required to read and learn all of the used traffic signs and signals but noone is every taught how to best utilize all that is available on automobiles. IF everyone was shown how to best utilize safety devices; we would have far less accidents. Not to say that anyone here is wrong at all; quite the contrary! Go on.... give it a try! If this works for you then great! if not; blind spot away good people.

I'll agree with Tuktanuk here. In fact, the way I do it is how my old Subaru owners manual teaches:
Sitting on the driver's seat, move your head to the left until it's almost touching the window, but looking forward. Adjust the left mirror so you can just see the body of the car. Then move your head so that it's positioned in the middle of the cabin, between driver's and passenger's seats (again looking forward). Now adjust the right mirror in the same way.
On my FJ, this means moving both mirrors out as far as they go, so they are almost perpendicular to the car body.
It's a little weird in the beginning when you first try this, since you loose the reference of seeing your own car on the mirror as you drive (it feels like you have no idea where the mirrors are point at), but you get used to it.

I've got a set on my XC90, and a set waiting to go on the FJ when I get it next month.
They are $66 a pair plus a few dollars shipping-$20 for 2 pairs out to Dubai (which I think is pretty fair)
I think that they are great.
