I want to put 305 65r 18's on my fj. Is that possible? If not whats the biggest size I can put on it?

That tire "should" fit. It will be close. You would benefit from trimming the body mounts for extra clearance. The most important thing is to get the correct rim offset/backspacing.

Usually you can go one size up or down no problem. 305/65R18's will be huge...they may fit in the wheelwell but I'd be concerned that you may not be able to turn your steering wheel without serious rubbing.
remember that 305 is the width in millimeters (about 12")
65 means the sidewall height will be 65% of the width,
and since you're going to an 18" wheel you're adding yet another inch to the overall diameter
On a different subject FJ tires will fit a Sequoia. And my 16" snow rims came off a Tacoma.

My 285/70/17's measure 11" wide, and 32.7" tall. With the stock offset, they clear with space to spare. A 305/65/18 is only 1" wider, and 1" taller than that. Like I said, trimming may benefit you, and get the proper offset, and you may not need to trim at all. Keep in mind that people fit 35/12.50/17's with minor trimming of the body mount. A lift will help a little bit, but not much if it stays on the street.
