Has anyone done anything with this space? Does this box come out as a single unit providing access to the inside of the dash?

There are a few screws that would appear to hold the box inplace has anyone tries removing these?

Has anyone done an "remodeling" of the dash - inserted guages, meters etc. If so please post pics. Thanks!!

I use mine to hold a small umbrella, my leatherman/flashlight pouch and perhaps a phillips screwdriver..... OOOO and some gum/breath mints (never know when you'll run into a cute FJ chick!)

I've ripped mine out completely to make room for a pc power supply and for routing wires.

If memory serves me correctly....
I think there are a few screws holding it in place. Once they are removed you need to pull the front towards you while also pulling up. It didn't come out easy.

I have enough room to put it back in but it's such a great location I'm not sure what I'm going to put there or if I'll just settle for a drivers glove box.

I see you weren't kidding about ripping the glove box out. I found the (2) obvious screws, and it still doesn't seem to be loose. Was this box held in with adhesive in addition to the screws?

Were you able to pull it out without damaging it? If so - please explain. Thanks!

Phil
