There isn't a checker thingy. It's supposed to last the life of the vehicle. That said, there is a drain, and a filler hole.

but what if you sprung a leak ? without crawling underneath and looking for evidence of a leak every so often ? how else are we soposed to know there is enuff ? now ill just have to constantly worry , oh woe is me

Is there a warning light/sensor for the transmission oil level like on some other vehicles? I understand the need for a dipstick. I guess it's kinda like keeping the grease in your manual tranny or differential, check it when you see a leak, or whenever possible.
