I checked Stant's web site and they don't have a listing for the FJ yet. However, I'd be willing to bet that the cap for a 4Runner, Tacoma, etc. would fit, since they are of the same family. Car makers don't usually change designs on this kind of part without good reason. Anyone out there have a 4runner or Tacoma and an FJ that could check? Otherwise, I would take the FJ cap to a good parts house (one that stocks inventory!) and see if they have one that matches with a lock. Another way would be to put a hole in the cover snf put a good quality cabinet lock in it that caught on the inside of teh body somewhere.

Hope this helps.

I was thinking more in terms of investing in a lock bar system that gets released fron inside the cabin to open the gas cover door. Many car companies provide this as a standard. I've never owned a toyota but I would geuss that other models have them. wonder if ti will be a big deal to install one.

Don't know about a cable release. I would guess it could be done with used parts or something. Just for the heck of it, I tried the cap from my 99 Solara and it fits just fine!! As I suspected, not a lot of differences in the caps. Only difference is the FJ original has a one click tightening method and the Solara is tighten until it clicks on the ratchet notches. Anyway, for whatever it is worth to anybody concerned about such things.

Someone had mentioned that Toyota may have installed a gas theft prevention device in the fuel tank line that doesn't allow gas to be siphoned. Can anyone confirm?
