It's actually the ECU that's different. The computer that comes with the truck without the locker does not have the programming for the A-trac.
Sorry to say, but you are out of luck.
You can install aftermarket lockers front and rear, if you like. It will cost a bit, but give you great traction for rock crawling. Way better than A-trac.

what if i was to get the other ecu and an aftermarket rear locker? would atrac work then? also for atrac do you need a rear locker or can the computer (ecu) change give me atrac.thanks for your advice.

It's not actually the locker you need. A-trac is a computer program that senses wheel spin, and it pulses the brakes on the wheel that is spinning to force the other wheel to turn as well.
I think it would be expensive to swap ECU's, and you'd probably open a big can-o-worms.
You'd probably be better off selling your truck, and buying a properly equipped one. But even better still, just buy lockers front and rear for the truck you have. Lockers are better than A-trac any day.
