Front receiver hitch

I've been wanting a front receiver hitch on the truck like I have on my 4Runner. Comes in handy when manouvering the trailer, and a handy place to mount the winch. (When I get one). I'll also be able to switch between the 2 trucks with one winch.
I can also use my rack for my minibikes on the front, and still be able to tow the trailer when camping.

I think I'll have to shorten my receiver basket.

What I did... I got a section of receiver tube, and welded it to some beefy angle. Drilled some holes, and bolted it to the winch mount inside the bumper. Should be good, I think.

Very cool mod. I'm saving this post so I'll have instructions on how to do it when I get some time.

It's so clever that it should be OEM on every new FJ.

Where did you get the idea?

Cool mod, Ryan. One thing you dont' have to worry about with hauling stuff up front is the increae in drag! I take it the beer can on the hood is just for scale, right??

Ha ha ha ha...it's kind of an inside joke with a bunch of my buddies. Pretty much all my tech pics have a can of beer in it. The problems start when I start using my molson measuring tape.

This wasn't really my idea. People have been doing it for years. I should keep my mouth shut, then you guys would think I was a genius.
It REALLY makes manouvering a trailer a lot easier. Companies are now offering winches in a receiver basket. That way you can winch yourself forward, or backward. Usually when you are stuck, you would rather pull yourself out, not further in.
This just gives you the option to do either. The racks are just the obvious next step.
