The rear locker doesn't disengage over 3 mph. Once it's engaged, it stays locked until you turn it off, or shift out of 4 lo. It's like that from the factory.

I tried to quote here but I don't think it worked...

"The locker will engage any time you want it to as long as your 3 MPH or less. Once engaged you can go as fast as you like and it will disengage..."

OK you'll have to edit your original post then. Either way, I want to be sure that you can still turn it on and off any time even though we're making the ECU think it's always off.

Thanks for the tip. I am definitely going to do this hack when it gets warm!!! I need a heated shop.

You are talking about 2 different hacks. The A-trac hack gives you free A-trac (if you don't have it already) and allows it to work at the same time as the rear locker. On pre-november trucks, they won't work at the same time, but you can hack it to make it work.
If you want the rear locker to activate in any mode (it will only functin in 4L from the factory) you have to do the locker hack. With that one, you can turn the rear locker on in any mode...2wd, 4hi, etc. You just need to be below 3 mph to turn it on. After that, you can go as fast as you want, and it will stay on.

Any more questions? Did I answer what you wanted to know?

I just re-read this... It will disengage over 3mph, but not automatically. If you choose to turn it off over 3 mph, it will turn off, but you can go as fast as you like, and it will stay on, unless you choose to turn it off.

ok....so with the A-trac and rear locker at the same time hack, you can still turn the rear locker on and off in 4-low even though we're tricking the ECU into thinking the diff is alwasy off (which allows the A-trac to activate). Does this sound right?
