Ok guys...Just picked up a 2007 FJ yesterday and loving it. This is the first 4wd vehicle I have ever owned. I've been scouring this site for some answers to questions I have about the vehicle and found lots of answers (Big props to whoever made that chart that explains when to use/not use 4H,4Lo, R. Diff Lock, A-TRAC, etc VERY helpful !) Couple things though that I haven't been able to find an answer to...
1. So I know 4H is for going a little faster and 4Lo for slower, more torque etc. Does the car need to be in any specific gear when 4wd is engaged ? So do I leave it in D and engage 4wd (High or Low) or should it be geared down to 4,3,2 etc ? Does it even matter ?
2. The car came with the usual keys, but also a very small little key. What is this for ? The Honda dealer where i bought it didn't know either and I'm not seeing an obvious use for it ?
Probably common sense to most of you so I apologize, but like I said, it's my first 4wd and not much knowledge here. I'll probably update the thread over the next couple days as I'm sure I'll have some more stupid questions to ask.
