Well, I think it should be centrally located somewhere in the Mid West. In order for any event to be successfull, it needs as many people as possible to attend. I do agree it should be a place where there are trails to drive on. However, they should not be too technical. When I get my FJ I'll try it out on some stuff, but won't be doing anything that can damage it. Rubicon is a bad idea in my opinion. I don't think most of us are ready for Rubicon.

Speak for yourself! I went wheeling today. Came sooo close to smashing my tail light. I can't wait for the flush mounts.

Runner_Ryan,

You've just been on Rubicon with your FJ? If you don't mind I have a few questions for you.

I heard that the Forest Service blasted 5 of the boulders that formed the Gatekeeper. How does it look and drive now that the Gatekeeper is no more? Do you take the Sluice bypass, or have you been on either Big or Little Sluice with your FJ?

I plan to do Rubicon in 2008, which will give me a year to prepare. However, first I plan to learn some more driving skills with our local Hoosier Cruisers group. I need to hit more trails and learn everything I can. Any tips you can share with me? Thanks.

Rgs, JLH

Sorry. Didn't go wheeling on the Rubicon. I'm in Canada.
Just went out in my local area. But your trip sounds fun. I've been wanting to do the Rubicon for quite some time, it has just never come together.
It's a looong tow home if I break much.
