I have been driving for more years than I would like to admit, and have never had real issues with a windshield. Since I've owned my Cruiser I have had a chip in the windshield, then this past weekend I had another rock fly up and hit it hard enough to crack it and it has been creeping across ever since. Has anyone else had issues with this? Could it be because of the angle that the windshield is on?

Thats all the talk, I just got mine and am thinking about putting on the clear plastic protection. They make it for the pain as well as the windshield. Kinda like a rubber for you car. I will say that virtually every car that I have owned has had windshield problems. I drive around 25,000 miles per year and is just seems to be a matter of time.
I think you will hear more about windshield problems on the fj than any other because forums like this one, how many camry forus do you think there are?

It does seem that the FJ has more windshield problems that other SUV's.
I've had mine replaced once and many other members had similar issues.

Yes. I have noticed some pitting in mine. I looked into the replacement cost, which I had heard is really high, and found it was about 700 CDN. I have found that the windshields and the paint are so so at best.

I just got off the phone with my mother it seems a small pebble hit the windshield about 3 inches from the top on the drivers side at highway speed and now the whole windshield is smashed. Has anyone looked more deeply into this problem? any recalls?
