Hey, everybody, I bought a 2008 FJ Dblack 6 speed manual about a month ago I have 3,500 mile on it. From the day I bought I've had this ticking sound near the injector area (on top of the engine) the whole time. I took it to one dealer and they checked it out and told me it was normal. This ticking sound can be heard at idle, I can't tell if it ticks on full load.
Has anyone had a similar issue?
Aside from the ticking sound the truck runs great!! I traded a 2002 Audi Allroad for this truck and I smile everytime I ride over bumps, potholes and RR tracks because I used cringe in that overpriced Audi due to it's very expensive air suspension. I am glad to be part of this forum

Hello. I've got about 7,000 miles on my 2008, auto tranny model. I noticed a slight ticking noise when I took delivery of my Cruiser. It seems like it may have gotten a little louder but I'm not stressing over it as this motor runs strong and I'm getting great gas mileage...Any other comments on this ticking from 2007 model owners?

i have noticed the same thing on mine as well mostly whaen im at the drive thru of a bank or sitting next to a building. i thought it was an exhaust leak at first. but i think its a timming chain sound as they used a real chain instead of a rubber band for the timming gears

Thanks everybody for your replies. I was kinda hoping it was something common about the FJ.
Now I can go back to buggin' my wife about that TRD Supercharger!!!
