Ok, I really want to get one of these FJ's!

But I really want the new 08 white trail edition.

Am I stupid for looking at buying that as opposed to a fully loaded regular FJ?

I mean what REALLY is the difference?

I do kind of like the idea of limited edition, so maybe I would just be paying a $5k premium for a small label saying Trail Edition I guess.

What do you think?

I think the TRD edition is so much more b.a. Personally, I want a stock all, except conv. pack.1. Then add everything else aftermarket. I'm already thinking of ripping out the radio and doing a double din touch screen full blown computer w/ gps, then all that other stuff. But if you're not savvy with doing the silly things myself as a teeny bopper are, then I would just go with a fully loaded. I think Yota is making too many special editions of FJs. There have been the Baja, TRD, Trail Teams, then the Convertible, I'm sure there will be special edition white rag convertibles... I'm more of the blank canvas type of guy.

If you want unique from the dealer, then yeah, go for a special edition from them. I want to make my own "Shortbus" edition

Since I would love to have the white one then I would definitely buy it. Even though I would upgrade wheels tires suspension skids bumpers and the list goes on. Just take the take off stuff and sell it. that will help recoop your costs up front.
I think the white one could look great if its done right

Yeah, I am heavily leaning towards the special and then slowly adding upgrades.

None of the dealers in Utah near me have it, so is the sound system anything special, or the same as on the others?

White roof and body with black trim pieces set this FJ apart from the rest. Additional features include specially-tuned Bilstein shock absorbers, BF Goodrich All-Terrain Tires with custom 16-inch TRD alloy wheels, Cyclone air cleaner, differential lock and A-TRAC, rock rails, all-weather floor mats, and front and rear skid plates.

Only 400 units will be produced from January 2008 through April 2008. January production units will be traded to dealers via the zones in late January.

Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
