Ok, pics are in the galley. Man the LED's are so much whiter and brighter. Its not hard to remove the mirros. gently pull from the bottom of the mirror itself untill you hear and feel a slight pop. do the same on either side and slide down and out (see pics) swap out the bulbs, and reverse the process. I'm verry happy with the result.

Very cool mod, the white LED lights look so much brighter.
If you don't mind, can you tell us where you replaced lights at, the difficulty of each, and the LED replacement model number? (I'm planning to copy you and I wanna know what kinda time committment I'm getting into)
Thanks,

It definately had something to do with the difference in power required for the regular bulbs as opposed to the LEDs, it was weird though. If anyone changes out their turn signals/tail lights let us know how it goes.

Well, I have swapped out all the turn signal/brake lights on the FJ with LED's. They are much brighter! With the position lights it is a piecee of cake, and no extra load resistors or the like are needed, but they (load resistors) are needed for the turn signals, unless you want the super fast turn signals. A way to get around this is to purchase a flasher unit designed for LED's since they have a much lower resistance. SuperbrightLleds.com has the replacement flasher unit for the new Toyotas, and it is like $13 (much better than splicing the wiring harness at the bulbs), you just remove the factory flasher unit and plug it in, then swap out your bulbs. The flasher is behind the kick panel by yoru left shin when you sit in the driver's seat (turn on the hazard flashers and listen/feel for the clicking to find your flasher). As for the LED bulbs, I bought them from two places, the rear turn signals I bought from superbrightleds.com (7440-15 amber) and for the brake bulbs (7443 red) and the front position/turn signals (7528/1157 amber) I bought those off ebay (cheap) look for the type in this link http://www.autodirectsave.com/1156_1157_LED_BULBS.asp ) Get the ones that look like this, because the bulbs don't mount straight in, they sit at an angle in the housing, also these WILL fit in the housing cut outs (some won't because they are too large in dia. I found this out after buynig them)
