This might me a stupid question but...
Do you need power in the truck to unlock the rear door with the key? I want to blank out the door locks but don't want to have to break them in the battery dies and the remote won't work.

The rear door lock is all electric. The key turns an electric switch, that unlocks the door.
Hope that helps.

Thanks. I though so but figured I would ask to make sure. I guess I won't cover the locks. Or.. Do it and hope the battery never dies.

If you intend to open the window in the rear door, you will need access to the door lock. It contains the switch that operates the solinoid that releases the window latch.
