Here is the info that I read in a recent Edmunds article on the TRD exhaust:
And what about the stuff we don't like? Well, there are plenty of issues that have cropped up already. Dan Edmunds, our director of vehicle testing and a former Toyota engineer, called the TRD exhaust a waste of $550. He cited its lame sound and the fact that it lessens the vehicle's departure angle. Senior Editor Erin Riches called the requirement for premium fuel "criminal" given the FJ's image as an affordable, back-to-basics off-roader.

Dan818,
I have a few questions regarding that air filter you installed: what kind is it? Was it difficult to set up? Do you feel a noticeable change in power (before the Flowmaster install, and after, if you wouldn't mind)? How much was it? and... Where did you get it?
From your photos I get the impression that the install was pretty straightforward.
And, are you Dan818 because you hail from the 8-1-8?

Dan818,
Thanks for the info. I'm a former 8-1-8'er, but back when it was still 213. I grew up in Northridge... I've only been back once or twice since I moved away in the 80s. It certainly has changed a lot since I was a kid, that much is certain.
Thanks again,
Jason
