i'm running 285's with no lift and get 17 to 18 mpg city hwy combined with premium gas. i have noticed that when i was running regular gas the mpg's dropped down about 1.5 to 2 mpg.

Mine is about 6.5" taller than stock, with 37's. I don't know about MPG, but I get about 400 KM per tank.

I think that would come out to about 245 miles. I am getting about 220-230 with 285's a 2.5" OME lift and an ARB roof rack...something doesnt compute here or does it?

I only get 400 KM out of a tank when I'm on the highway only. In town (unloaded) I get closer to 340 KM out of a tank. I have winch bumper, sliders, and a half stock roof rack, oh, and a CB antenna. Not much for wind resistance, but it does add up.
I used to be into the little rice rocket cars. I'd speed everywhere. Too many speeding tickets, and too many close calls (crashing). I've decided to drive a bit slower. I rarely go over 110 KPH ( about 65 mph) and that makes a HUGE difference. Mine is also the 6 speed. I'll shift before 3000 rpm. Usually closer to 2300 or even less. This is a torquey motor, and doesn't need to rev to make power. I also use 92 and sometimes 94 octane gas. This also helps.

Oh, and I also use Mobil 1 synthetic oil.

Good luck with your milage.
