I read on some other sites that there have been problems with the frame cracking. Is this a widespread problem? What causes that? Is it something I should consider before buying?

Don't quote me but...
I think that it is only on the 2007 models that were built in 2006. I also believe that it has been addressed by Toyota.
Maybe someone with a little more experience with this issue can weigh in.

In the meantime, read this:

I have never heard of "frame cracking". If it's the fender buldges, I wouln't worry about it. It's not a structural part, and even if it cracks, although unsightly, will not affect the truck.

I'm sure others will disagree, but that's my experienced point of view.

I assumed that they were talking about the fender bulges/rips. But I too have never heard of frame cracking.
