Just curious, my Tonka needs new tires soon, but i cant afford my lift yet. what is the tallest tires i can put on my stock FJ without them rubbing? i'd like to put 33's or 285's on it, any suggestions?

I've been debating the same thing. I actually measured the clearance with the wheel turned approx. 45 degrees. There is less than one inch from my stock 265's. The 285 add an inch in overall height to the tire so theoretically that would cut my clearance down to less than 1/2". I'm going to stick with the 265's.

ok thanks. i think i will too. what kind of tires are yall running? i have the BFG rugged trails that came stock when i bought it but havent got very good miles on them. i prolly can make it to 30k but dont wanna chance it.

Really? I have BFG All Terrain T/A's on mine, at 60,000K (40,000 miles)still got a few miles left on 'em!
