I bought a 16 foot Casita travel trailer, hooked it up and noticed brought the back of the cruiser down a couple of inches. I don,t want to add the extra weight of a equalizer hitch. Any ideas?

Hey Jerry, I highly recommend the equalizer hitch! Not only does it distribute the weight better leveling the vehicle, but makes the trailer much more stable! I pull a 25' Surveyor (5000lbs) and with the equalizer it pulls awesome even in high winds.

You other option is to add stiffer springs to the rear such as Old Man Emu (OME) heavy duty. The ride with the trailer will be nice but without it things will be a bet stiff.

I too would recommend the distribution hitch, the added weight is negated by the hitch, and it's the right way to tow a trailer. You could also reduce the tongue weight by moving some weight to the rear of the trailer, maybe add a storage box to the rear bumper of the trailer, this will take some weight off the FJ but I would rather have a weight distributing hitch myself.
