OK... so my FJ is SUPPOSED to have 3 skid plates. It does I guess... but the one around the gas tank is a freaking PLASTIC skid plate. What's up with that noise? What good would that do? My Tacoma had a metal skid plate around the gas tank.

I hear ya, the one advantage is that it snaps back in place easier since it's plastic. My front skid plate had to be beaten with a hammer to undo the damage. lol

I too wonder why they would put a plastic skid plate on it.

Think I'm going to get these:

Dosen't look like they cover the gas tank, but they cover the rest pretty good.

Nice looking skids...but 600 bux!!??!! If some one had a bench brake, the same thing would cost less than 100 bux for the steel!
Also, I'm wondering why the truck in those pics has such a rusty exhaust.

I plan to make my own skids. I'll post pics when I'm done. As for the plastic gas tank/skid plate...I don't like it either. But I have seen it in action, and it will just deform over obsticals, and pop back into shape. Works well, as long as it's not sharp rocks it hits.
