Has anyone out there used the Rancho Quicklift? My goal is just to level the truck, I don't really want to lift the truck. I've heard that spacer lifts will cause problems with front end components. My truck is my daily driver so I don't want to sacrifice reliability and I don't have a small fortune to spend. The Quicklift is a strut system that uses the stock springs to raise the truck 1" to 2.5" which is all I need. Also will I need to upgrade any other front end components or the transfer case? I've also heard that the upper control arms have to be replaced for the truck to be alligned correctly.

i installed a rancho quicklift about 6 months ago. i needed it to prevent my 285/75x17 tires from rubbing the wheelwells. i only needed a regular alignment after installing and have not had any issues since intalling. however, because it only lifts the front (i'm guessing i got about 1 1/2 inches of lift) the haedlights will need to be aimed lower than factory specs.

I have a 3" lift (spacers and rear shock replacement) with no issues. I think the front end problems occur with the 6" lifts. It all depends on what you plan on using it for anyway. I do some mild offroad adventures and I'm planning on adding a few other components but I'm not about to go to a 6" rise and all that goes with it. A 285 tire will add about another inch (and to the diff as well) but you need to do a front lift to prevent rubbing of the front tires. No matter what you do for mods, if your jumping the truck or climbing/winching yourself over class 10 trails then you have to be prepared to have failures. There have been reports on the other forum of inner fender skirt splits and diff ring gear disintergration. Most of the fender problems from what I can see are hard core offroaders. The diff problem seems to be isolated (so far) to early 07's with mid 06 production dates. That so far seems to be a ring gear that was over-hardened and brittle. There are 2 or three things anyone who plans on doing any offroading should give some serious concideration to. 1. Lift and tires. 2. Skids and sliders 3. trailing arm replacement to something a little thicker and less prone to being bent. Just my 2 drachma's though.

My truck has an April 06' production date. Do you know if there was a recall to cover the diff. issues. Also I am still a bit confused why everyone says a coil spring lift will not cause severe angles on front end components but a spacer lift will even if they lift the truck the same amount.
