You should be able to run the power wire from the positive battery terminal to the switch and then run the ground from the switch to any part of the chassis with the external (power) line to the lights...
It has been a while but you should be able to plug in like the drawing below:

Oh well - I am sure he can figure that one out. This is what happens when you put together a wiring diagram in MS Paint in a minute or two

You have a P/N for that OEM switch? I'm installing Hella rallye 4000s on mine and would like to use the OEM switch in lieu of the ugly switch that comes from Hella. Also, how did you run the wires back into the engine compartment so that they are protected and not just hanging?
