With only about 800 miles on my FJ auto 4x4, first tank was 18.5, second tank was better at almost 20.

I was waiting until I hit my first 1,000 miles - which I did yesterday.
My average was 19.6 MPG - 2/3 city & 1/3 highway.

Whats a gallon?
Anyway - I waited until I had over 1600 km (recommended break-in period) on truck before I measured fuel consumption.

If I did my math right:

13.21 litres/100 kilometers
or 7.57 km/litre

21.38 mpg (Canadian gallons)
17.81 mpg (US gallons)

Driving was 50:50. Highway speeds were between 90 kph and 120 kph with the odd burst around 140 kph.

Translated to US: Highway speeds were between 55.92 mph and 74.56 mph with the odd burst around 86.99 mph

Assumptions:
1 US gal = 3.78541 litres
1 CDN gal = 4.54609 litres
1 mile = 1.609 kilometers

Raw data:
Traveled 296 km
Fuel consumed 39.092 litres
Fuel 91 octane
Transmission 6 speed manual

Hello All,

I have a 4x4 auto with about 3000 miles so far! Only 4 FJs in my neighborhood!

I used 93 octane, except where noted. Mix of 50% highway.

Mobil 19.7
Shell 20.8
Shell 27.1
Shell 19.54
Shell 18.43 Installed new tires 285/70r17 Bridgeston AT REVO
Sheetz 23.4
Valero 19.2 89 octane
Valero 18.6 89 octane loaded for trip to beach
Amoco 17.42 89 octane loaded 80mph (rush to get home)
Citgo 20.1 93 octane no load

I am continuing to try different brands of gas to see what gets the best mpg.

The new tires did not seem to make much difference in mpg, BUT it looks a whole lot better with the agressive wider ATs on it!

Happy motoring!
