I have a smaller CB bought just for the FJ so I could put it just to the right of the steering wheel column about equal to my knee. It's flush to the upward slope of the plastic molding and my leg can't reach it. Wired to a after market fuze panel I put up under the fuze panel, on the fire wall inside to hook all equipment to. The mic mount went right on the side of the shifter island by my same knee, again out of the way in case of crash. I put a speaker horn under the hood on the passenger wheel well for a connected PA. Mounted antenna through the first cross bar on the roof rack. But found you still have to ground it to work, the rack just doesn't ground good. Works slick now. Will probably rip off the antenna so I got a spring mount for under it now.
